In the lawmakers’ bid to impeach Raufu Olaniyan, deputy governor of the Oyo State might have hit the wall, as the Igboho-born retired permanent secretary has dragged them to court.
The Oyo State high court Tuesday morning, adjourned hearing till tomorrow, asking that the Court ordered that the speaker and the clerk be put on notice.
It was learnt that the speaker and the clerk this afternoon acting the script of Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State who was caught unawares and jolted by Olaniyan’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The online news medium understands that the PDP-dominated assembly had, few days after, levelled allegations on the deputy governor, asking him to reply within 7 days.
Olaniyan, this newspaper recalls, replied them within 4 days, through his lawyers. The house, this newspaper also learnt, would read the report tomorrow.
As at the time of replying the assembly, Olaniyan’s legal team, was filing processes at the high court to stop the lawmakers from going ahead.
