As a follow up to the re speak of Alhaji Ismaila Ashipa on the above important subject and the Governor ‘s alleged immediate response on his WhatsApp page , it becomes imperative to clear the air and state the true situation on the subject and take away any colouration therein for the sake of the posterity.
It’s most intriguing that the Governor exempts himself from those calling the shots for the party in 2018 when the decision on who to be National Delegate could not materialise without the imprimatur of the State Governors where PDP had or the Governorship candidate as was the case in Oyo.
It can’t be refuted however that Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide s name suddenly fled from the Delegate list having be ratified by the leaders and members of the party in an early meeting conveyed at Aba Emu . That Oloye ” was embarrassingly denied ” entrance when the security men adjured that they could only allow those who were delegates on their list to gain entry until She was allowedto stand for her late father who was a BOT member and a statutory Delegate at that time.
“History doesn’t Repeat Itself, but It Often Rhymes” as Mark Twain says. If 4 years after the same thing happens, the only plausible explanation is that it can only be the same handiwork of the person (people)that raised the havoc in the past.
If there was an injustice meted to the Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide in 2018 and it has been supposedly rectified last year as She was a National Delegate of the party when Iyiocha Ayu was voted the Chairman. Oloye was even given the dual role of taking charge of all Delegates from SW axis. It’s on this premise that she doesn’t envisage that her name will be missing from the delegates list nor deem it worthwhile to intimate the Governor of her interest to represent her LG as its considered a mission already accomplished.
Therefore, there is no justifiable reason to remove Oloye s name eitherbeforeor now. This is an affront to the former Minister and unrivalled leader of the party who never rests on her oars.
Thanks.
Isiaka-kehinde is my name ,a former aide to Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide.
