PDP leading aspirant for Egbeda/OnaAra Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Dr. Ayokunle Iyanda has said, despite the consensus arrangement that dashed his hope of flagging the party’s ticket for the constituency, his concern now lies on Federal Constituency’s candidate, Hon. Busari Olayemi’s, other PDP candidates’ victories at the general elections and betterment of pacesetter state among others.
Iyanda, made this promise during an interactive engagement with naijatodaynew.com in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
OnaAra born politician and technocrat stressed that though the last consensus arrangement made over choice of candidate to represent constituency did not favour him, maintaining that he would make sure he joins forces with Olayemi, Chief Bisi Ilaka and other party’s candidates in order to attain victory at the next general polls.
Iyanda said, Olayemi’s endorsement of candidature for the federal constituency was believed to have come in the best interest of the party in Egbeda/OnaAra Federal Constituency and Oyo State at large and as a faithful party member, he accepted this.
The aspirant maintained that the true love and interest he has for the party would positively trigger his eagerness and readiness to work for the party and its anointed candidates.
Adding that,the election of Chief Bisi Ilaka for Oyo Central Senatorial District come 2023 would be supported with all available resources, logistics and support at his disposal as he does not only remain the chieftain of the party in the state but also remains the leader in Oyo Central Senatorial District.
Iyanda called on party’s loyalists, members and others to throw their weight behind the candidates who are fielded across the state by the party. He express concern on prominent leaders leaving the party and believe the governor will address this soon.
He said he is a true son of pacesetter state, who would always ensures he contributes his own quota to the development of the state and country in general.
