Leading Aspirant in Egbeda/OnaAra Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Hon. Kunle Iyanda has said that despite campaign of calumny and character assassination statement against the person of Governor Seyi Makinde, he still has high chances of retaining the seat come 2023 electoral dispensation.
Iyanda made this disclosure in Ibadan, during his interactive engagement with the press men.
OnaAra born politician and technocrat stressed that Makinde’s chances of winning 2023 governorship election are high, as he is yet to see anyone that can beat the governor. He maintained that, Makinde’s achievements across the state are enough to earn him the support of the voters.
On emergence of Hon. Busari Olayemi’s candidature for the federal constituency, Iyanda accepted his candidature on consensus arrangement that necessitated his emergence, maintaining that it is high time he and others joined forces with his campaign in order to ascertain his victory at the poll come 2023.
The Aspirant, added that the consensus arrangement that birthed emergence of Olayemi via committee endorsed by Gov. Makinde had done the needful in its own capacity and which its outcome should be accepted by him and other aspirants.
On allegation of imposition of candidates levelled against Oyo PDP, he said there was no imposition of candidates on other aspirants in Egbeda/OnaAra Federal Constituency, maintaining that the position taken by the party’s committee and Makinde was equivalent to democratic standard.
Iyanda maintained that, despite the fact that he was not considered for the ticket, he still remains a staunch PDP member and supporter who would use everything at his own disposal to ensure that party’s presidential candidate, Makinde, Busari Olayemi and other candidates win at the polls slated for 2023.
He confirmed his good working relationship with Makinde, Chief Bisi Ilaka and Busari Olayemi, with assurance that he would drum support for their emergence at the polls.
On his contribution to the residents of the federal constituency and Oyo State at large, Iyanda affirmed, despite he is not a government’s appointee nor worker, he has been doing his best to assist and take many out of poverty in the constituency.
Reiterating that, he has used his wide connections to provide employment opportunities to people, facilitation of loans to residents and relief packages to countless residents at prevalent period of Covid-19.
Iyanda, a business man whose unit is at Akinlade in OnaAra Local Government admitted people of the constituency as his extended family and equally promised to do everything humanly possible to be of help to all and sundry now and for ever.
In another vein, Iyanda showed personal preference for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and moreover throwed weight behind his ascendancy into presidency come 2023.
He showed admiration to Atiku and described him as a true democrat with the will to make the necessary changes when he comes on board as the next Nigerian president come 2023.
