One of the intelligent party members asked me a question that if eventually my Mentor, Hon Busari Olayemi gets to the House of Representatives but fails to perform excellently well, what will be my feelings and next line of action?.
Now to answer your question without mincing a word, Olayemi that I know will surprise many if he gets there because he had already known the terrain.
There is something I will like every member of our great PDP to know, there is high secret of supremacy battle between the OLD and NEW lawmakers in the green chamber.
It has become the tradition that the old cargos do consider preferential treatment in sharing of all rosy posts leaving thatchers to first timers of which cannot bring enough dividends of democracy to their various constituencies and habitable constituents.
Now, that my own Mentor, Hon Olayemi is already being known to many old cargos in the chamber, as a former colleague, he will be automatically become part of old lawmakers, making him to be one of the KINGS in the house, he won’t be bombarded with questions, he will just bow and go straight to his seat on resumption day.
Thereafter, he will be given opportunity to choose his areas of interest, one or two of the best legislative portfolios, even more can be allotted to him as that remains the tradition that nobody can change.
With this, my brothers, Sisters, Papa and Mama, Hon Olayemi is going to get better dividends for us back home if elected as our Representative in Egbeda/Onaara come 2023.
Another reason I am very sure that he will do well is that; when I asked Fijabi of APC who happened to be one of my boys in London about activities in the green chambers, why he couldn’t perform excellently during his first term as Lawmaker, the answer he gave was very shocking:
In the house “those fore lawmakers couldn’t give us ways for penetration”, if I raised my hands to pass a bill, the speaker would be calling the second timers all the time, parking us like sardine !
We were there just to say “HI, HI, NIL !!!
That’s all our job there.
It was too late before I realized that it was deliberate, he said in a remorseful way, Uncle, I have to lobby with one of the old cargos to be presenting my proposed bill to the house” it wasn’t me only, it happened to everyone of us who had just gotten new seats in the chambers.
Hon Olayemi had once in his first term went through these legislative procedures of which can never ever happen again to him.
Olayemi has become a noble voice and personality ” he will never again say ‘YES SIR’ to any members of the lower chambers except the Honourable SPEAKER of the house.
therefore, everybody should be rest assured that Olayemi will come back with countless dividends of democracy.
Let’s all unite and synergise ourselves for the Political battle between APC and PDP
Surely, we shall coast home to victory
