Former majority leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola was said to have rejected the purported automatic senatorial tick for Oyo North Senatorial District that Oyo State and National Working Committee of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) are planning to concede to her.
As Ex member of the green chamber of the National Assembly and Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party, PDP rejected the unilateral offer, claiming that the interest of her teaming supporters was the first consideration before any other thing.
She maintained that, she would only accede to that, provided the executive members are shared, there are certain numbers of tickets for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly for her supporters.
Naijatodaynew.com gathered from a reliable source who spoke under condition of anonymity that ex federal lawmaker got a text message from PDP National Chairman, Iyocha Ayu that she should meet with him in Abuja last week Friday, March 25, 2022.
An anonymous in his continuation added that Mulikat in her response maintained that she could not immediately report to Abuja on that day, that she does not possess private jet to lift her to the point of meeting.
While meeting afterward for mutual interaction and engagement with the National Chairman on issues associated with resolution of crises bedeviling Oyo PDP, the source hinted that National Chairman had promised to concede automatic ticket to vie for Oyo North Senatorial District at the general elections slated for 2023.
Mulikat was said to have outrightly rejected the offer she perceived as selfish at the expense of her teaming loyalists and supporters.
The source disclosed that, the Senatorial hopeful maintained that her ambition was lesser compared to interest and welfare of her supporters.
In her requests, Mulikat was said to have hinted that she would only take the senatorial ticket, provided the interest of her supporters are firstly taken cared of.
She was said to have demanded for sharing of executive members, certain numbers of tickets for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.
But Ayu in his response was said to have promised to look into it and subsequently calls for elaborate meeting aimed at setting the crises.
