Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan), has commended all parties for the resolution of all issues thrown up in the ascension to the throne of Olubadan of Ibadanland, as well as congratulated High Chief Lekan Balogun, the Otun Olubadan, on his nomination, and subsequent confirmation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Lanlehin, in a release from his Media Bureau in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, praised all parties for “putting the interest of Ibadanland first”.
It is to be recalled that the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde had on Monday, 14 February, 2022, announced the confirmation of High Chief Balogun as the Olubadan, following his earlier nomination by the Olubadan-in-Council.
Senator Lanlehin who expressed delight at the successful conclusion of the issue, lauded the Osi Olubadan, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja, for standing firm in the defence of truth, equity and fairness, maintaining posterity will be kind to the ex-Oyo governor.
For his display of unbridled professionalism and walking the issues through the legal labyrinth, successfully, Senator Lanlehin praised Barrister Michael Lana effusively, praying the Almighty to continually lead him aright.
Congratulating High Chief Balogun and members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Lanlehin who represented Oyo South Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015 opined that the matured and civil resolution of the issue will not only teach all parties valuable lessons, but also go a long way in strengthening the bond of peace and unity in the ancient city.
Asserting that “all is well that ends well,” Lanlehin urged parties to bury whatever hatchet they may have harboured before, during and after the resolution, but to, in the interest of the peace, progress and development of Ibadanland, work harmoniously.
“The Olubadan-in-Council comprises elders vast in wisdom and rich in experience, I know they will rebond for the sake of Ibadanland,” Lanlehin assured.
Senator Lanlehin (Solan) then prayed for the smooth conclusion of the remaining formalities required in the ascension of High Chief Lekan Balogun to the throne of his forebears as the 42nd Olubadan, wishing him good health and abundant wisdom to pilot successfully, the affairs of Ibadanland.
