A group advocating for the re-election of the Oyo State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ademola Babalola known as “DEMBAB LEEKANSI ” has commiserated with the Chairman, over the death of one of his greatest supporters and leaders who was also a member of League of Veteran Journalists, Pa Adebunmi who passed away Monday evening in Ibadan.
In a statement by the group spokesperson, Lekan Shobo Shobowale, Pa Adebunmi left behind an indelible mark in media practice in the state and beyond with some of his legacies speaking even after his passage.
The group lamented that, “This death is a great loss to all of us. It is a loss to the journalism profession, it is a loss to our chairman and entire state council of Oyo NUJ.
“Our late Baba can best be described as a humane, disciplined, humble, down-to-earth, people-oriented, righteous, great and patriotic citizen, during his lifetime. He was indeed an encyclopedia of NUJ politics.
“It is therefore with painful feeling that we are extending the heartfelt condolences of our group to his immediate families, League of Veteran Journalists, our chairman, Ademola Babalola, associates, friends and well-wishers,”
We prayed that, “May Almighty God keep his soul, forgive all his shortcomings; reward his good deeds and give his families and all of us, the fortitude to bear this great loss”, the statement concluded.
