The Polytechnic Ibadan Chapter of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) has honoured Senator Teslim Folarin of Oyo Central with a Distinguished Award in Education sector.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content was special guest of honour at 2021 NASU Week Final Football Competition between The Poly Ibadan Management Team versus Olalere Team. The match, which ended in penalty shootouts in North Campus Stadium of the institution, saw Management Team as 2021 champions of the competition.
The prestigious award was received on behalf of the three-term senator by Alhaji Yinka Folarin who was accompanied by Otunba Wahid Olawale and Hon. Tunji Ajimobi.
Presenting the award, NASU Chairman, Comrade Akande Ibraheem said the award was in recognition of Folarin’s outstanding achievements in education sector. The NASU boss cited blocks of classrooms and ICT Centres facilitated by the federal lawmaker to some schools in Oyo Central as well as MacArthur ICT and Communications Centre in the University of Ibadan.
Com Ibraheem commended Senator Folarin for fulfilling his campaign promises of quality representation, meaningful empowerment programmes and infrastructural developments in the senatorial district. He urged the Oyo Central senator not to rest on his oars in his bid to facilitate more developmental projects and sponsor masses-focused bills.
Folarin recently received Special Merit Award from the Oyo State Branch of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, and Grand Patron and Ambassador (Agbogeniyi Gbogbo Aranso) of the Supreme Council of Tailors (SCT Oyo/Afijio).
