The ancient town of Ilero in Iwa Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Kajola Local Government, Oyo State received influential numbers of people as the Monarch, The Elero of Ilero Land, HRM, Oba Wasiu Oyedele Saka Olokolonigi II installed Chief Molumo Babatunde as the Balogun of Ilero Land.
The epoch making occasion of Babatunde’s installation took place at Elero palace, Ilero on Saturday, October 30, 2021.
While speaking on factors that facilitated his emergence, Oba Wasiu Oyedele Saka expatiated that the zoning of Balogun chieftaincy to Chief Molumo Babatunde’s family was in line with the history that birthed the ancient town of Ilero Land.
The monarch stressed that Babatunde was chosen by his members of family, accepted by the monarch and palace chiefs based on his impeccable character, courage, influence, conviction and determination to deliver on the terms of reference designated for the office.
Oba Wasiu charged the newly installed Balogun to use his new office to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Ilero Land, stressing that his emergence should be positively felt by the chiefs and entire indigenes of Ilero Land.
In the same vein, Onjo of Okeho, Oba Rafiu Osuolale hailed the Elero of Ilero Land for bestowing the iconic and prestigious chieftaincy title on Chief Molumo Babatunde, calling on him to use his new portfolio to make unity, love with the chiefs and equally allow his installation to have positive impact in the community.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Molumo Babatunde promised to use the new of his to make meaningful contributions and notable quotas for the development of Ilero Land.
He pledged that he would act on purpose on which he was installed as the Balogun of Ilero Land to defend the ancient town against both internal and external aggressors, adding that though no one is praying for occurrence of war within the community and its environs.
Balogun Babatunde lavished encomiums on the Elero of Ilero Land, The Chiefs, members of Balogun family, Friends, Ilero Youths and others whose vital contributions culminated in successful installation of chieftaincy title.
The installation was graced by Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Chief(Mrs) Abeni Oosa, who is equally the daughter of the soil, Onjo of Okeho, Gegun of Aiyetoro-Oke, Bajigan of Ilaji-Oke, Aseyin’s wives, friends, well wishers and host of others respectively.
