Aggrieved Stakeholders and members of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Oyo State have called for resignation of Governor Seyi Makinde from the party.
Calling for Makinde’s resignation from the conservative party was reflected in a chorus sang at the Elders/Stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday, September 20 at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The meeting which had attendance of aggrieved stakeholders and members across the 33 local governments in Oyo State primarily centred on preparation for the subsequent party’s congresses.
In her contribution, Hon. Mulikat Akande Adeola, former majority leader of the House of Representatives enjoined members to participate actively in the party’s ward congress which had been scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 25.
Ex Majority Leader appealed to everybody not to fight anybody at the venue of the congress, asking them to go out early with their party cards, voter’s cards and other identifications certifying them the true members of PDP.
She said the provision would be made for vedio recording of all activities that are scheduled to transpire on the day in order to ascertain the congress’ fairness and transparency.
Adeola stressed that the normal venues which PDP normally conducts its congresses across Oyo State should be the ones where they should all gather to have the congress conducted.
Another stakeholder, Mr Nureni Akanbi vowed that never in their lives would they allow their destinies in the hands of someone like incumbent governor.
Is beheaded the solution to the headache?
