Senator Teslim Folarin of Oyo Central Senatorial District congratulates Muslim Ummah as they begin a new lunar calendar – Hijrah 1443AH, enjoining them to continue to coexist peacefully with their neighbours.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content, in a felicitation message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity – Com. YSO Olaniyi, urged Muslim Ummah to learn from lessons of Hijrah, which is the migration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Mecca to Madinah in 622 CE.
The three-term senator noted that the Migration (Hijrah) of the early Muslims from Makkah to Madinah was migration away from harm, persecution, oppression, polytheism and disbelief to peace, security and justice.
“True Muslims must always embrace peace, justice and equity in their dealings with both Muslims and Non-Muslims. In the spirit of Hijrah 1443AH, I enjoin all Muslim Ummah to migrate from all negative acts to positive acts”.
“Hijrah 1443AH is another opportunity for Muslims to reflect on their past and channel a new way of life” he said.
Senator Folarin concluded his statement by calling on Muslims to pray for Nigeria as leaders are trying their bests to address myriad of challenges confronting the country.
