The stakeholders under the platform of Association of Table Water Producers of Nigeria (ATWAP), Oke-Ogun Zone, Oyo State have stated the substantial reasons behind the establishment of the body in the geopolitical zone.
While speaking with Khalid Imran, Editor-in-Chief, naijatodaynews.com on behalf of the executives, shortly after the monthly meeting held in Kajola Local Government, Okeho, on Saturday, May 29, Chairman, ATWAP, Oke-Ogun Zone, Alhaji Badmos Fesojaye Gbogbolomo Al-Miskinbilahi disclosed that the notable reasons behind the creation of ATWAP in the region are characterized as the members’ readiness and consistency to produce hygienic and tasteless water to the people of the zone and beyond.
Adding that the body stands on premise to ensure that people with no prerequisite experience and knowledge about the production of purified water are not allowed to affect the health and good living of the dwellers via the unpurified water they are producing.
Al-Miskinbilahi stressed that the producers of table water across the ten local governments(Kajola, Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Atisbo, Saki west, Saki east, Irepo, Oorelope and Olorunsogo) in Oke-Ogun came together with prime motive to form a formidable platform and united front for the progress and stability of the union.
ATWAP Chairman said that the body which has been in existence since 1995 had been maintaining and sustaining its purpose of existence, sequel to body’s compliance with government’s and NAFDAC’s principles and policy guiding the production of purified water.
He substantiated that the body exists and has ability to sustain the business in the zone, owing to firm and strict cooperation with the governments at all levels on modus operandi guiding the production of table water.
Al-Miskinbilahi moreover reiterated that members of ATWAP should endeavour to continue working in tandem with the government’s policy that sustains the buoyancy and prosperity of water business.
He however called on the producers, wholesalers, retailers and others to refrain from selling water at exorbitant rates to the consumers, adding that strict adherence to this will no doubt dent the image of the body and cause no consumers’ apathy in the business.
Al-Miskinbilahi enjoined governments to be of help to ATWAP on areas of financial assistance, mobilities and other means to catapult the body to greater heights.
He gave words of admonition to members to ensure they comply with government’s directives and equally ascertain they carry out their businesses lawfully and violent free.
The meeting had full attendance of all the ranks and files of the creme-de-creme of the body across the ten local governments, while all the notable issues concerning the union were fruitfully discussed.
