The Executive Chairman, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. (Alhaji) Salimonu Adebayo Afolabi Borikansunwon has called for maximum cooperation and support from concerned stakeholders within the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and beyond, towards an attainment of fruitful success in the current administration ably led by him.
Borikansunwon’s message of appeal came up during the swearing-in occasion of the newly elected Vice Chairman for the local council, Hon. Oyediran Gideon Bolanle, which took place on Friday, May 28, at the Local Government Secretariat, Meseole, Okeho.
At the event covered by Khalid Imran, Editor-in-Chief, naijatodaynews.com,the new council boss, stressed that it becomes imperative and necessary for the councilors elect, supervisory councillors, special assistants and other notable stakeholders to throw their weight behind his current administration, so as to attain the expectedly unprecedented achievements.
Borikansunwon added that the leaders within PDP should ensure they give their maximum support and cooperation to the government they collectively enthroned and should consistently put forward the elderly pieces of advice at when and where necessary.
He said that the goodies and merriments attached to democracy cannot be evenly allocated to all and sundry at once, appealing to all people to exercise patience with the new government, as the purpose through which the government came into place will be maximally fulfilled.
Borikansunwon called on government’s workers at the local council to ensure that they are more committed, diligent, punctual, honest and patriotic to their duties.
Shortly after his swearing-in, Hon. Oyediran Gideon Bolanle thanked God and Governor Seyi Makinde who counted him worthy as notable member of government at the local level , promising that he would do the core tasks diligently and patriotically, stressing that he would not in any way betray the trust being reposed in him.
Bolanle enjoined the Career Officers to work in tandem with the new government, adding that it is when cooperation exists between the political functionaries and the career officers, that the remarkable feats could be attained.
The new vice chairman lavished encomiums on local party chairman, other executive members, leaders and other members of the party for their diligence, loyalty and patriotism that culminated in enthronement of the new government, promising they will surely reap the fruits of their hard labour for the party.
While speaking earlier, the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mr Gbenga Adediji disclosed that the swearing-in for the vice chairman ought to have come up before the councillors but he was playing the game along the rules of engagement, so as to avoid committing mistakes.
Adediji stressed that it was not his discretion nor power that delayed the swearing-in till date but failure to get the concrete directive from the state government.
However, HLGA maintained that the current security challenges across the nation has crippled the economy and has in no doubt culminated in allocation of limited resources to cater for countless projects and programmes.
Adediji appealed to all to be patient, as all projects and programmes cannot be implemented at once but priority will be given to them in terms of their importance and usefulness.
He praised the chairman, vice chairman and councillors for their victories at the last local government poll, praying that their tenures will be known for remarkable achievements and notable histories.
The local PDP Chairman, Hon. Johnson Ojebiyi enjoined the council chairman to learn from the previous local government chairmen who had left office but whose footprints and achievements are obvious and clearly to the blind and audible to the deaf.
Ojebiyi called on Borikansunwon to come up with different projects and programmes, so as to make life worth living for the constituents of Kajola Local Government.
The epoch making occasion was attended by Hon.(Alhaji) Salimonu Adebayo Afolabi Borikansunwon, Hon. Oyediran Gideon Bolanle, councillors elect, Hon. Johnson ojebiyi, party executives, and party leaders like Alhaji Musediq Adele Alawiye, Alhaji Azeez Ogundijo, Baba T.A. Salau, Mr Bolanle Awolere and others.
While the HLGA, Mr Gbenga Adediji led the career officers and other local government’s staff to the programme.
