Lingering crises among family heads (Mogajis) in Ibadanland, the capital of Oyo State has come to an end, sequel to intervention of CEO, Ilaji Hotels & Sports Resort, Chief Dotun Sanusi and other notable stakeholders in the ancient city.
The timely intervention of the notable stakeholders has been reportedly culminated in their readiness to work together in unity for the progress of Ibadanland.
Recall that there has been issues among the family heads in Ibadanland which broke them into two groups namely ‘the authentic Mogajis and ‘the recognized Mogajis’.
Speaking over the weekend on behalf of the Mogajis during the Ibadan Compound Sports Competition/Fiesta meeting held at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan, Mogaji Abass Oloko stated that some bad elements within the state caused chaos among the family heads which led to their division, saying that peace will start to reign now that they are ready to work in unity for the progress of the Ibadanland.
He however called on other Mogajis to go back to their respective families and do the needful.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji has described the step taken by the Mogajis as a welcome development towards the betterment of Ibadanland, saying that any society that works against itself can never move higher.
The monarch stated that it is important for leaders at the grass root to unite and chew bitterness and rivalry if truly they want progress for Ibadan, adding that its a welcome development that the family heads have resolved and decided to work together as one because they have been working contrary to one another for quite for some times.
In his remark, the CEO of Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort, Ibadan, Engr. Dotun Sanusi said that all the two parties within the Mogajis had promised to unite and work for the progress of the town.
Otunapesin Ola of Ibadan land enjoined them to stand by their words and ensure their new rapport contributes meaningfully to the progress and development of the ancient city.
He said , “each of the Mogajis has been directed by to go back to hi/her respective families and solved the problems, family heads will be held responsible for any atrocity committed in their families”.
Sanusi assured that with all efforts put in place, Ibadan will become the most peaceful city in Nigeria.
