Fulani leaders in Okeogun axis of Oyo State have debunked insinuation by an on-line media 9ja search light that Fulani leaders in Iseyin and across Oke- Ogun area are surrounded by jobless Fulani youths, converged in palace and Kara market and also engaged in charge and bail act with other unlawful atrocities.
A rejoinder issued by two leaders of Fulani in Oke-Ogun area of the pacesetter state, Alhaji Yakubu Bello, the Ardor of Oyo state and Alhaji Abubakar Bani, the Jouro of Oke-Ogun through their media aid said indigenous Fulani in Okeogun area are known for their humility, respect and cooperation from their host communities.
The duo of Alhaji Yakubu Bello and Alhaji Abubakar Bani commended the leadership acumen of his imperial Majesty, The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 for his fatherly roles and uncommon character with fulanis who seek abode in his domain.
The Ardor of Oyo state and Jouro of Oke Ogun emphasised that Alaafin of Oyo, Iku Baba Yeye bestowed them with honourary tittle with a view to achieving peaceful co-existence between Fulani herders and farmers.
They stressed that the unscrupulous element that cause chaos and apathy in Ibarapa axis should not be allowed to fuel or Ignite the harmonious relationship already established with peaceful co-existence in Oke-Ogun area of Oyo state between Fulani settlers and their host.
The duo stated their efforts towards building cordial relationship between farmers and herders to include sensitization programme for herders, monitoring of farms and grazing activities by herders.
Alhaji Yakubu Bello used the occasion to state his profile and antecedent as former state chairman of Miyetti Allah cattle Breeders Association for 8years, seriki Fulani of Oke-Ogun, 3years and now the Aador of Fulani Oyo State.
