I looked at the future we have and as bleak as people say it is, there is a ray of hope for the African child.
The restoration of the western education bliss has been eroded by the cybercrime and is being replaced unaware, thank God for NGO like Friends of Dejiola which despite some challenges deem it fit to always told the lane of positively changing the narrative through some informative, educuative and souls lifting programmes they have been doing.
I was flabaggersted when I stumbled on their highlighted activities for this first quarter of 2021 and I decided to actively follow the trend. Guess what, I was not disappointed as I was actively involved in their just concluded QUIZ COMPETITION which was held in St Luke’s College, Molete, Ibadan.
The quiz competition which came up on Saturday 20th, February, 2021 was indeed a highly remarkable one for Friends of Dejiola and Nigeria at large as it has rejigged the hope of students in public schools who always wanting to partake in such activities.
Worthy of note is that, five schools were randomly invited in Oyo state and they graciously honoured the invitation.
Below are the invited schools and the prizes won:
1st Bishop Philips Academy, Monatan, Ibadan – #40,000
2nd Oba Akinbiyi High school, Mokola Ibadan – #30,000
3rd St. Luke’s college, Molete Ibadan – #20,000
4th Lagelu Grammar school, Agugu Ibadan – #10,000
5th Anglican Grammar school, Agbirigidi Ibadan – #10,000
Many thanks to the sponsors of the programme and to the Friends of Dejiola, in spite of their multifaceted assignments, they remain indefatigable. Another worthy consideration, a feather to the cap.
On a final note, public should be on a lookout as Friends of Dejiola unfold their activitives for the year 2021 which we believe that it is going to touch many lives and also have direct impact in the state.
