The Chairman of Nigerian Senate Committee on Local Content and Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Oloye Teslim Folarin has extended Christmas greetings and best wishes to the people of the of the district, Oyo State and Nigeria.
Folarin, in a special Christmas message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity – Com. YSO Olaniyi, asked Nigerians to celebrate the festival by staying put at home in the wake of the second-wave of COVID-19.
In his message, the three-term federal lawmaker said, “Christmas is a festival of merriment and joy. On this happy occasion, I convey my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all our Christian brothers and sisters, who are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ symbolised love, compassion and brotherhood. As we celebrate his birth, let us resolve to foster peace, harmony and tolerance so as to create a better future for all mankind”.
“Even as we are readying to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year 2021, the world is passing through serious challenging situations occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic. Governments and stakeholders are doing all that are required to tackle the pandemic. However, the success of the efforts depends on the complete cooperation from the people. I, therefore, appeal to the people to extend full cooperation to the governments in tackling the situation”.
Folarin while restating his commitment to qualitative representation and delivery of masses-oriented dividends of democracy to his constituents, charged governments at all levels the federal on improved security.
“Stay at home and be safe! May the Christmas and New Year 2021 bring peace, happiness, contentment, good health and prosperity to all” the statement concluded.
