The management of an Ibadan based travel agency , Absolute Success Travels has put together a special package to sponsor two sports journalists who are members of the Oyo state Sports Writers of Nigeria (SWAN) to Japan for Tokyo Olympics next year.
The company also promised to give the sports writers in the state free ride to Japan, Tokyo Olympics next year.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Evangelist Ajibola Ogunkeyede disclosed this while speaking as a Guest Lecturer at the Oyo SWAN Day organized by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Oyo State Chapter at the NUJ Press Centre Iyaganku Ibadan.
Delivering a lecture titled “Tourism and Sports: The Needed Synergy”, Evangelist Ogunkeyede also made it known that his Company, popularly known as Ufitfly, is making another arrangements to fly sports journalists and sports fans to Japan at subsidized charges for Tokyo Olympic and other global sports meets scheduled for next year.
“We are going to sponsor two SWAN members to Japan as part of our partnership with this great Associatiin under the Chairmanship of Niyi Alebiosu. Aside this, we are also making travelling arrangements to fly sports journalists from Oyo state willing to cover Tokyo Olympics next year to Japan at subsidized charges”, Ufitfly Boss said.
In his own remarks at the event, the Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Cultures and Tourism, Honourable Akeem Ademola Ige said one of the reasons the Seyi Makinde administration is remodeling 30 year old Lekan Salami Stadium is to make the state a tourist destination.
Hon Ige enjoined journalists as societal watchdogs to play their role objectively.
Also speaking at the occasion, the State Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Comrade Ademola Babalola commended Oyo SWAN leadership for the success of the event and assured that his administration will continue to support the Association to achieve its desires.
The event was graced by the Publisher of a popular Magazine in Ibadan Parrot Xtra, Mr Yinka Agboola and other seasoned journalists.
