It’s either emotional crippleness or senile atrophy that has deleteriously affected any thinker thinking that GSM lacks emotional quotient.
Emotional intelligence (otherwise known as emotional quotient or EQ) is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. This is simple attribute of all human being but with vary levels. It’s very high in some individuals and very low in some others. Empathizing with others, Yoruba called it (Oju Anu)
For any hungry and angry politician trying to defame GSM, alleging him of not having empathy for his mum is very mischievous. If I may referred to GSM word which they quoted in their write up….”My mother called me while I was in Port Harcourt, I didn’t pick her calls because I knew she wanted to tell me to see her on my way from Ondo to Port Harcourt but since I knew that wasn’t going to be possible I didn’t pick her calls”
The mother wanted GSM to see her on his way to Port Harcourt, already at Ondo and he didn’t pick the calls because he knew that he may be emotionally confused resulting in dillema. Mother is very important to a child and state work is at stake. GSM main thought was like “I just left my mum some days ago and I will definitely come back to her soonest, why should I turned back from this long journey”. GSM never knew his mother was calling him for the last brief, he is not god or angel.
It is inimical for any soulless politician to take advantage of GSM straightforwardness and truthfulness in his words and dealing with people for scoring cheap political point.
Well, it’s not hidden, it’s obvious the type of love between GSM and his mother while she was alive and thereafter . The type of love and affection every Parenthood is praying for. These people should count themselves unprecedentedly lucky, if in their generations now, before and those to come later, if any of you could get quarter of love between GSM and his mother.
Very glaring that the woman lived a fulfilled motherhood life, the type that millions of mother are praying for except those that saw it in otherwise manner. She was well celebrated while alive and after her exit. What more could any fulfilled parent prayed for that the woman lacked while alive and after ?
Then briefly, coming to EQ in GSM in relation to people and state affairs. We’ve never had it this good before in Oyo State, a sitting Gov with this type of excessive empathy to the extent that oppositions said that it’s too much and tagged him as populist. Talk of active workers or retired workers with undelayed salaries and entitlements, monthly prompt payment of pensions and gratuities, bursary to students, widows empowerment, using palliative procurements to empowered Oyo people, too numerous to count when it comes to GSM and empathy.
Lastly, that GSM has never danced and will never dance to their ilks tune of domination is not enough to label this God sent governor as lack of intelligent quotient. It is insanity of highest order for any person destructively criticizing GSM out of millions that hold GSM in high esteem and and made him their cynosure, they need to check their mentalities, though hunger and stress are deleterious but it is not enough to cause towing defamatory path as they made it their hobby now.
