The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai has on Friday, October 23 commissioned projects at Asabari Barracks Saki, Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
This was contained in a release personally issued by Colonel Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed, Deputy Director Army Public Relations, 2 Division Nigerian Army and made available to naijatodaynews.com.
According to him,”The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai ably represented by the 0General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen AB Omozoje on Friday, 23 October 2020 commissioned projects at Asabari Barracks, Saki”.
” And in the same development a special intervention borehole initiated, sponsored and constructed by the Nigerian Army at the palace of the Okere of Saki, Oyo State, was commissioned by the Chief of Projects and Programmes Army Headquarters, Maj Gen MSA Aliyu ably represented by the Deputy Chief of Projects and Programmes, Army Headquarters, Maj Gen AM Alabi”.
“The project was
one of several project contributions of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai’s Nigerian Army non-kinetic line of operations. Winning hearts and minds through intervention projects targeted to ease hardship in communities by the provision of essential amenities. In Saki, portable drinking water has been in scarce supply for quite a while”.
“This borehole is a special intervention project provided by the Chief of Army Staff to help our people out of hardship of scarcity of portable water in Saki” His Royal Majesty, Okere of Saki Land, Oba Kaleed Oyeniyi Olabisi stressed”.
“In the same development, the representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen AB Omozoje also commissioned 7 newly renovated Corporal -Below Blocks of Accommodation at the Corporals Below Quarters, 4 newly issued Toyota Hilux, 1 Toyota Medical Field Ambulance and 7 Motorcycles. Maj Gen AB Omozoje on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff also commissioned a Remodeled Quarter Guard, at the Asabari Barracks, Saki”.
“The ceremony was attended by His Royal Majesty, Okere of Saki Land and members of his council of chiefs, military and paramilitary officers both serving and retired, members of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association 244 Recce Battalion Chapter, Saki, to mention but few”.
“The Representative of the Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen AB Omozoje in his remarks expressed appreciation to His Royal Majesty Okere of Saki Land and the people of Saki for been supportive to the Nigerian Army. He promised to pass their goodwill message to the Chief of Army Staff. Troops were advised to remain loyal and apolitical to the Nigerian Army. And the new facilities provided be maintained”, Mohammed said
