Ibadan Northwest State Constituency Aspirant into Oyo House of Assembly for 2019 general elections, Hon. Henry Idowu Balogun on Friday, commiserated with the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, over the sudden demise of his mother, Madam Abigail Makinde.
Mama Abigail Makinde was reported to have been died on Thursday, October 15 in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State at the age of 80 years.
Balogun in a condolence message he personally signed and made available to naijatodaynews.com, described the demise of the octogenarian and matriarch of Oyo Governor as shocking as there was no sign nor symptoms of major ailment ascribed to the deceased, who was full of life, until the announcement of unfortunate development.
Balogun, a PDP loyalist and staunched supporter urged Governor Makinde and other members of the family to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived well and was fulfilled as a great woman, who touched lives positively and gracefully witnessed Makinde’s ascension to the office of the State Governor.
Balogun said,” at a mournful time like this, I share in your grief and enjoin you to be man enough to withstand this trying moment. It is disheartening to lose one’s mother especially a woman of such influence and virtue in the state and Nigeria at large”.
“Death is inevitable and end of all mortals, it will definitely come when the Almighty God so wishes”, Balogun said.
He prayed God to forgive the quintessential and virtuous woman her shortcomings and grant her soul an eternal rest.
He equally prayed God to give Makinde and other members of the family the equanimity to bear her irreplaceable loss.
