As Nigerian celebrates 60th independence anniversary,eminent personalities including Hon Akinwole Akinwale, Com. Ishola Olateju, Tolu Ibitola, Olumide Aderinokun, Taiwo Adesanya and Segun Adebiyi were considered for notable awards based on their contributions to the socio economic development and youth empowerment across the state and beyond.
The presentation of the befitting awards which were organized by Shake Global, Economic Empowerment and Social Initiatives held at International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Seyi Bamidele, the Chief Covener of the programme revealed that the initiative was geared towards redefining and reshaping youthful leadership in a post Covid-19 world, as there is much to be done in terms of youths’ participation in leadership and governance.
He said the choice of the awardees was considered to be their significant acknowledged roles in enhancing and facilitating positive and fruitful development of Youths in their domain.
The Head of Faculty Purple Training & Consulting and Faculty, LAUTECH Business School, Dr Kuro John Ngoboh in his contribution enjoined Nigerian youths to get economic value and avoid complacency in their roles and engagement in governance and leadership.
Speaking on a topic: The role of Youth in Governance and Leadership in a Post COVID-19 World” Kuro revealed that youths should create their own narratives, channel creative energy alright and positive activity as this is necessary in the growth of a new nigeria economy. Hence, youths can bring together the global digital health community to collaborate and engage in the prioritization, adoption and acceleration of digital health technologies for a better governance”.
The chairman of the ocassion, Barr. Wale Ojo, said the purpose of the event is to rub minds on how we can bring together the global digital health community to collaborate and engage in the prioritization, adoption and acceleration of digital health technologies for a better governance that would fruitfully yield dividends of democracy to all sundry.
