Yorubas in Diaspora have thrown their weight behind the Ibadan based philanthropist and social activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as ‘Sunday Igboho’ on his agitation that centres on creation of Oodua Republic and secession of Yoruba Speaking States from Nigeria, saying his planned arrest would cause violence in the region.

This was contained in a release issued by the Spokesman of the concerned Yorubas in Diaspora, Comrade Rasaq Kamaldeen shortly after the revelation of Sunday Igboho’s stance on Oodua Republic in a viral video clip.

Kewulabi said that the concerned yorubas in Diaspora have vehemently thrown their weight and support behind Sunday Igboho who expatiated the notable reasons that call for creation of Oodua Republic and secession of Yoruba Speaking States from Nigeria.

The Spokesman said that the Federal Government did not need to arrest nor threaten Sunday Igboho on his agitation for Oodua Republic but needs to do the needful in returning the country back to regional system of government.

Kamaldeen disclosed that some powerful men in the country had been threatening Sunday Igboho’s life and equally conspired to arrest him shortly after the release of the viral video clip, stressing that such attempts would do more than good.

He said despite Yorubas’ intellectual capacity, human and material resources, the regional is no longer at the fore front of decision makings but forced to play the second fiddle by the country’s ruling class.

In the same vein, mouthpiece.ng had earlier reported,”the social Cultural Group, ITESIWAJU OODUA FOUNDATION has warned the Nigeria Government led by President Muhammad Buhari to desist from any plot or intention to threaten, assault, arrest or declare Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho wanted”.

“The group raised the alarm shortly after a meeting on Sunday held at its State Secretariat in Ibadan, the state capital”.

“The statement was signed by the State coordinator of the youths wing, Mr. Abdullateef Ademola and made available to source newspaper through its publicity Secretary, Com. Kunle Ajibade”.

“According to the statement, “If the Buhari Led administration should carry on with any ideas or plans to arrest Sunday Igboho for agitating for the interest of the Yorubas “OODUA REPUBLIC”, such idea could distabilized the peace of the entire Nigeria and hereby calling on all Yoruba leaders irrespective of their political parties, affiliations or ambition to close ranks in the interest of all Yorubas to see this agitation as a means of liberation from this compulsory and unholy alliance subjugating our people and taking over our lands with Force”.

“The group called on all groups, association, traditional rulers and all stake holders to rise and build a Garrison around Chief Sunday Igboho and the entire agitators of peace and liberation of Yoruba land”.

“The statement further said that the Group is not affliated with any political party, insisting that “OODUA REPUBLIC” is eminent at this critical point that Yoruba land is suffering from external forces migrating into the South West to murder, kidnap and take over our God given lands”.

“Why asking the Federal Government the main reason why Yoruba land shouldn’t exit Nigeria, most especially when the Federal Government has failed in securing lives and properties, the group called on Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu and Aare Gani Adams to ensure that Yoruba land and her people does not suffer any further”, the statement explained
