In his narration, Amugat said that Ahmad Sulaiman displayed his mother’s(Modinat Sulaiman’s) marketably boiled groundnuts at his mother’s shop locating at the main market of the town and Teslim Monsuru who happens to be his intimate friend was picking the groundnuts one by one for his consumption.

Amugat added that Ahmad had warned Teslim to stop eating the groundnuts that were displayed for selling, that he could be beaten by his mother having known that the groundnuts were reducing in numbers but the warning fell to Teslim’s deaf hear.

Ahmad was said to have gone inside his mother’s shop to drink water, while returning to point he placed his groundnuts, he met Teslim busy eating the groundnuts he had earlier warned to desist from, in Ahmad’s annoyance, he unknowingly picked the bagco bag that contained a sharpen knife and hit Teslim at his left side of the body and pinched by the knife.

Amugat said that immediately the knife pinched Teslim, blood began to gush out profusely and the boy kicked the bucket at the spot, as all efforts to rescue him were vehemently proved abortive.

He said Ahmad became shivering and was crying why he mistakenly killed a friend of his with a sharpen knife that he had no knowledge of presence in the bagco bag.

Amugat said that when the sad incident happened the father of the suspected killer, Mr Sulaiman reported to Community’s King, Elero of Ilero but they were advised to report the matter to the nearest police station.

Having fed the police officers with sad development, they arrested and locked up the mother(Modinat Sulaiman) and father (Mr Sulaiman) of the suspected killer when they could not trace his whereabout after the incident.

The matter eventually got to the notice of Area Commander, Iganna, LCDA of the state but declined to receive and hear the case, claiming that the matter went beyond his jurisdiction.

The Area Commander later took up the matter to Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state, while  the parents of the suspected killer were invited for interrogation.

Amugat said that the Deputy Commissioner of Police eventually released them having acknowledged that the teenager did not deliberately  kill his friend.

Amugat said that the suspected killer and deceased were true friends of each other, sequel to friendship and intimacy that is existing between mothers of the duo.

Adding that their friendship was a result of intimacy existing between Mrs Modinat Sulaiman and Mrs Monsuru for unknown numbers of years.

He said Teslim’s parents were unhappy, following the unfortunate circumstance that warranted his death but took solace in the fact that God giveth and taketh.

He said the boy had been buried according to Islamic rite.

Amugat prayed God to give the parents the fortitude to bear an irreplaceable loss.

As at the time of filing the report, efforts made to reach out to the parents of the suspected killer and deceased were futile as none was ready to speak on the sad incident.
