The Osun State Government has unveiled an agricultural real estate facility which can be said to be the biggest greenhouse of its kind in the country by Farmkonnect Nigeria at Wasimi area of Osun State.
Farmkonnect has set a pace with this initiative which they named ‘Wave City’ and were lauded for this attainment by the State Governor who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture; Hon. Adedayo Adewole. He expressed the joy experienced by the State for being a partaker in the glory of the initiative via the support given, and regards it as part of the fulfilment of the pledge to expand Agriculture in the state by the State Government. He hopes that the initiative will boost the state’s economy, increase food security and provide employment to youths.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sport; Hon. Yemi Lawal was as well present at the event alongside various investors, and attested to the opportunities that are attracted to the new development, which includes over 2,000 employment opportunities.
Wave City was further explained by its founder, Azeez Oluwole as a network of controlled farming situated on a 5 million Square Meters farmland in Ayedire Local Government of the State that will run on hydroponic system of farming and other sustainable agricultural means.
He estimated the expected production of the facility to be around 120,000 metric tonnes of fruits and vegetables per annum.
Mr. Azeez appreciated the State Governor for his support and interest towards Farmkonnect and Wave City in particular, says he appreciates the style of leadership of the State Governor.
Wave City is regarded as sustainable and the new light shone on agriculture.
