The Caretaker Chairman, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, Alhaj(Hon.) Saliman Afolabi Borikansunwon has promised to support the victims of recent rainstorm whose roofs were raised and damaged beyond repair.
Borikansunwon who on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde made the promise while on his empathic tour to the victims of rainstorm who were spread across the wards and metropolis that make the local government.
The Council Chairman who began his empathic tour at 2nd Baptist Primary School, Ogan Okeho felt unhappy having seen the extent at which the rainstorm disastrously damaged the fence that shields the school and its inhabitants.
Borikansunwon instructed some of his entourage to take the photographs of the damaged fence and promised that the state government under the leadership of Engr Seyi Makinde would do everything possible to rehabilitate the fence and other damaged facilities in the school.
Borikansunwon proceeded to Ward04, Ogan-Bode in Okeho where he carefully and patiently assessed the damages that the rainstorm did to the buildings of the victims in the ward.
While empathizing with them, Borikansunwon thanked God that the rainstorm did not kill nor injure anybody, stressing that the state government in its capacity would do everything possible to bring succour to their pains.
On procedure to ascertain the veracity of the disaster, Borikansunwon informed all the victims in Ward04 to take photographs of the damaged buildings, write financial assistance letter and submit at the local government secretariat for further processes and encomiums were lavished on the Council Chairman by the Chieftain of PDP, Alhaji T.A. Salau and others in the ward.
On getting to ward05, he paid homage to party leader, Alhaji O.K.Salam with intention to inform him of the reasons that facilitated the tour, in his response, Salam appreciated Borikansunwon for identifying with victims at the time of their temporary grief, he prayed for success of his administration.
In his furtherance, Borikansunwon toured all the affected areas in Ward 05 (Ashi-Pamo) and instructed all the victims to follow the procedures to authenticate the disaster and reasons for government’s assistance.
In an interaction with the Supervisory Councilor for Works, Comrade Kabiru Yekeeen Olaoye lamented that he was unhappy on the sad development of rainstorm that raised the roofs and damaged the buildings of the people of the community.
Stressing that the Local Government Chairman and State Governor would collaborate to ensure that the victims are financially compensated.
Olaoye promised that all other wards and metropolis in the local government would be visited for empathy and promises of assistance.
Borikansunwon in his tour was accompanied by all Supervisory Councillors, Career Officers, Party Loyalists and host of others.
