The Lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency at the floor of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Dele Adeola has affirmed that the Speaker of the 9th Assembly, Rt Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin stands not impeachable.
Adeola disclosed this at the Press Conference/Media Chat, Commissioning of Projects and Constituency Office to mark One year in Office, held at Iseyin Town Hall on Saturday, June 20th.
Adeola reiterated that the speaker had neither done nor perpetrated any grievous offence to wrath his impeachment, stressing that Ogundoyin remains the speaker and stands not impeachable.
In Adeola’s chronological presentation, while unfolding the scorecards, he disclosed that he had attained feats on on areas of motions and bills, oversight functions and supportive programmes for the constituency among others.
Adeola who is also Chairman, House Committee on Land and Survey disclosed that the 9th Assembly members were sworn in on June 20th, 2019 by the Ministry of Law and Justice with admonition for attainment of excellence on three major tasks which are centred on legislative functions, oversight functions and supportive programmes for the constituency among others.
Adeola on disclosure of achievements that the 9th Assembly had attained so far, he stated that the house had passed 47 motions and 26 bills, adding that he had sponsored 8 motions which are progressively in tandem with his constituency, Oke-Ogun and Oyo State as a whole.
The Lawmaker who is also the PRO Oyo State Parliamentary Council and member of 7 notable committees said that having acknowledged the moribund situation of Oyo State Agricultural Development Project(OYSADEP), he stressed that he moved a motion for his resuscitation and its approval was done by Governor Seyi Makinde with immediate effect.
As Iseyin-Moniya and Iseyin-Oyo roads are known as major roads that link Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone with cities and also roads that ensure the quick transportation of farm produce to the cities, Adeola added that he had facilitated motions on their rehabilitation as he affirmed that engineering work would soon commence on Iseyin-Oyo road being the Federal Government project.
The Lawmaker said that it was a tradition in the past that the Ministry of Land and Survey needed to collect clearance fee as a prerequisite for building, stressing that he had sponsored a motion to make a clearance fee not a precondition for building and which he claimed had come to force.
On area of health, Adeola disclosed that he had expedited actions on selfless efforts on how Iseyin General Hospital would be among the first phase of General Hospitals in Oyo State to be rehabilitated by the state government.
Also on an effort to combat the ravaging coronavirus pestilence with use of herbs and other local medicines, the lawmaker said that he had moved a motion of constitution of professional researchers which he stressed that Governor Seyi Makinde had constituted team of experts among the professors at the University of Ibadan.
On constituency project, he responded that immediately he was sworn in, he secured a loan to the tune of #3m to facilitate free medical checkups and surgical operations where nothing less than 1500 constituents were benefited regardless of political dichotomies, religious colouration and backgrounds among others.
The commissioning of physical projects which are ranged from edifice’s rehabilitation at Ekunle Iseyin, ultra modern weaving centre, Motorized Borehole at Abaletu’s Sawmill, Constituency Office and presentation of palliatives to those that were affected by inferno at Adabo Market in Iseyin were successfully done after the press conference and lecture delivered by Dr Fadare Nurain.
Adeola disclosed that he ought to have done more than the available achievements, adding that out of three funds(salary, oversight allowances and Constituency Empowerment Allowances) that the 9th Assembly entitled to, only salary and oversight allowances he had privilege to execute the projects, stressing that they would have been obtaining the third allowances but the ravaging Covid-19 has obstructed the possibility.
Adeola equally gave prizes to those three winners in each Iseyin and Itesiawaju who did well in essay writing with topic, ” Effects of Covid-19 on Economic Development of Oke-Ogun” while Adegbenro Mujeeb, Ojekunle Abbass Oyeteju and Balogun Fasasi got prizes in Itesiwaju axis when Miss Adekunle Pelumi, Abeeb Eyinade and Abubakar Kolawole were winners in Iseyin.
On appreciation, Chief Makanjuola Kazeeem Dada appreciated Adeola for edifice being rehabilitated by the lawmaker, Alhaji Moshood Elewure received the palliatives at Adabo Market and thanked the parliamentarian on behalf of others, also the beneficiaries of motorized borehole at Abaletu’s Sawmill thanked him for gesture while the PDP and community members thanked him for the constituency office respectively.
