The Ooni of Ife, Osun State, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 2 has promised further assistance to University College Hospital(UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State as the hospital’s management team on Tuesday, May 26th visited the palace on three major things that concerned Ooni and hospital in particular.
Ooni made the pledge of more subsequent assistance to the UCH when its Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo led other members of the management team to the palace on three major things which are characterised as: commiseration with the Imperial Majesty over the recent assailants that broke the palace’s entrance, appreciation to Ooni on a motorised modular fumigator being donated to UCH and using the avenue to seek further help from His Imperial Majesty towards the development of the hospital.
In his appreciation, Ooni thanked the management team of the hospital ably led by Otegbayo for their consideration and eagerness to deem it fit to visit the palace at this trying time that coronavirus is ravaging the entire South-West, Nigeria and world at large.
His Imperial Majesty promised that he would continue to do more for the hospital because of strong affinity and emotional ties he has with the medical institution, stressing that he remains a significant pivotal figure whom should be acknowledged as a member of the hospital with unflinching support.
While speaking on identification with the hospital and reasons his contributions must be felt, Ooni disclosed that his late mother had previously worked in the hospital for complete 38 years where her footprints remain indelible, promising that Wuraola Chemotherapy Cancer Centre would soon be constructed as a means to immortalise his late mother.
On coronavirus pestilence, Ooni said that there was no gainsaying in the fact that Covid-19 is real and governments at all levels had been doing best of theirs to makesure that the pandemic is totally eradicated, adding that as a pure Yoruba man, the ancestors’ herbs of curing Covid-19 and other terminal diseases should be applied so as to complement the medical means of treatment.
He added that Professors of all medical fields had been assembled to Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital at Ado-Ekiti on a meaningful research on the use of herbs to cure all contagious diseases like cancer, arthritis, Covid-19 and other life-threatening diseases, stressing that Federal Government and its agencies like National Association of Foods, Drugs, Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and others would be professionally carried along on the herbs’ processes and how the production would be recommended for the specific ailments.
While expatiating the purpose that triggered the visit, Otegbayo expatiated that the visit was majorly premised on their firm consideration to commiserate with Ooni over the assailants that broke into palace recently, adding that he and other members of the management team needed to show their commiseration in respect of the heart disturbing scenario.
Otegbayo added that the assistance that Ooni rendered to the hospital needed to be appreciated, stressing that the donation of a motorised modular fumigator should be appreciated, so that their oliver twist would request for more.
He appealed the Ooni to give further assistance to the hospital and he should equally assist the members of management team in connecting them with people that would also be of great help to the medical institution.
In his own words, Badejo Victor Oluwaseun, Team Leader, House of Oduduwa, Machines and Tools appreciated the Imperial Majesty for giving them the enabling environment to produce some items and equipment at home in fighting the ravaging coronavirus pestilence.
He showered encomiums and appreciation on youths whose impacts were felt in producing those things, encouraging them to be ready for more challenges in order to cope with what world might bring in the subsequent time.
