Oyo LG Chairman(Borikansunwon) Unfolds Scorecards And Subsequent Cardinal Programmes Of Action

The Caretaker Chairman, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon.(Alh.) Afolabi Salimon Borikansunwon has revealed the attained achievements and subsequent cardinal programmes of action to be implemented.

Borikansunwon in an exclusive interaction with Khalid Imran, Editor, Naija Today News disclosed the numbers of achievements he had attained since assumption of office and the proposed prioritized programmes to be executed in the subsequent time.

While enumerating the scorecards, Borikansunwon said that the administration led by him had done the reinstatement of dualized transformer based on alleged vandalization being perpetrated by the hoodlums, adding that its reinstatement had been helpful to supply light to residential houses and commercial centres around Okeho-Iganna, Kara area, Moshral Garden, Secretariat among others.

On provision of drinkable water, he had ensured the repair of dysfunctional boreholes across the communities that make the Local Government, adding that the repair of 27 hand pumped and motorised boreholes across the six wards that make the LG were successfully done through the help and collaboration of Head of Local Government Administration (HLA), Director of Finance, Director of Works and others.

Borikansunwon said he had not forgotten to remember and celebrate with dead and living heroes on last Jan.15th, adding that the needed and necessary things were done to keep the date memorable.

During the last Ramadan fast, he disclosed that his administration sponsored three Islamic leaders to make sermons at Oke-Ogun FM on auspicious occasion of fasting and its teachings.

On Covid-19, he said that he had made concerted efforts relating with containment and curtailment of the pernicious disease, adding that the administration engaged in mobilization and enlightenment about the pandemic, sponsorship of jingles on the virus, provision of preventive items,needs to comply with governments’ directives on lockdown and WHO’s protocols among others.

On the subsequent cardinal programmes to be executed, Borikansunwon revealed that based on instructions from the State Government, he had carried out the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation of Roads to be constructed, stressing that those roads are: Muslim Playing Ground to Isemi-Ile road, PA Akinyemi road to Isemi-Ile Police Station to Primary Isemi-Ile Primary Health Centre to Okeho-I semi-Ile road, Imia to Baptist Medical Centre to Isemi-Ile-Okeho road and AUD Primary School Ilua road to Maternity Centre, which he affirmed have been forwarded to Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters for approval and commencement of works

On recent budget defense, he revealed that he made mentioned of all roads which are in deplorable conditions, as he had equally produced the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation on roads in Ilero, Okeho, Isemi-Ile and others in compliance with Zero Potholes’ Policy.

Borikansunwon also said that he had embarked on first phase of community roads’ grading which began at Oleyo, Akoko, Olorunsogo and ended at Ladokun’s settlement, adding that its second phase which will begin at Kishanija, Adekunle, Isemi-Ile, Ipaa and Ado-Awaye, Igbo-Ako, Ebi, Igbo Mojeesi, Isale-Alubo to Ifo-Ere would start soonest.

On area of health, The Caretaker Chairman said that he had been working on improvement and rehabilitation of maternity centre and he had simultaneously produced the Bill of Engineering Evaluation and Measurement on rehabilitation of Ijo Maternity Centre as the first and largest one in the local government,sequel to its deplorable condition.

On Education, Borikansunwon disclosed that effort was in pipeline to rehabilitate AUD Primary School, Eeyele, Okeho owing to its deplorable condition and considerable depreciation, adding that six exercise books would be given to each pupil across the 64 Primary Schools in Kajola LG and Iwa, Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Areas of Oyo State.

On agriculture, he lamented that works would have been started, he assured that soonest works would commence on agricultural business aimed at engaging the teaming population of unemployed youths, adding that in line with cardinal programmes to engage in agriculture and in collaboration with experts and IITA, Ibadan for efficacy of the tasks.

Stressing that State Government had charged them all to get 50 hectares of land for cultivation when 25 hectares would be used for cassava cultivation while the other 25 hectares would also be used for maize cultivation. Not only that but also added that there shall be training for farmers on modern method of farming which would be greatly needed on fish farming, livestock, farming itself and cattle rearing among others.

Borikansunwon promised that the cardinal blueprints of Governor Seyi Makinde would be reciprocated at the local level, adding that the governments of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) at the state and local level would never refrain from bringing the dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the state.

He enjoined people to throw their weight behind Makinde, stressing he remains the governor who is ready to reposition, rebuild and reform the state in all ramifications.
