Two Benefactors who are The Oxygen for Life Initiative (OLI) and Air Sep Corporation (APC) have donated equipment to the Haematology Day Care Unit at the Haematology Department of University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.
UCH Covid-19 Media Team in its release, personally signed and made available to Naija Today News on Monday, May 18th stated that the above itemised two benefactors have donated equipment to Haematology Department of the hospital.
In its words,”two benefactors donated equipment to the Haematology Day Care Unit at the Haematology Department of the hospital”.
“One of the equipment is a two-in-one requirement for an efficient Haematology Day Care centre and The Oxygen for Life Initiative (OLI) donated 3 items through her President, Prof. Adegoke Falade”.
“The items include two Pulse Oximeter. Pulse oximetry is an easy, painless test used to measure the Oxygen level ( oxygen saturation) of the blood. It can readily access the blood sent to different parts of the body furthest from the heart, e.g. arms and legs. It is usually required in acute emergencies, e.g. acute chest syndrome, sleep apnoea. More importantly it helps to confirm when we have urgent need for a ventilator and an Oxygen Concentrator”.
“Another is the New Life Oxygen Concentrator from Air Sep Corporation. The Portable Oxygen Cylinder was also donated which will ensure that patient has immediate access to oxygen whilst alternative source of power is being set up. A Mobile Generator which was appropriately wired as alternative supply of power was donated along with the equipment”.
“As at the close of business on Sunday, 17th May, 2020, a new case of COVID-19 was transferred-in from Ogun State. He is receiving adequate treatment at our infectious disease Unit Holding Bay”.
“The University College Hospital, Ibadan will continue to render excellent care and services to all our patients”.
“The Hospital equally enjoins everyone to adhere to the required infection prevention and control measures prescribed by the WHO and the NCDC, such as physical distancing, regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers & face masks”.
” We will continue to update the public accordingly” and equally enjoined all to stay safe.
