The source noted that should such details be required by Hon Akinajo, in the spirit of togetherness on ground of the cordial relationship that exists between the Speaker and other lawmakers, he (Hon Akinajo) ought to carry the Speaker along to dispel all possible doubts or ulterior motives against the backdrop of allegedly trying to investigate the leadership of the house.
According to the source, these were the major events that berthed the impression of mistrust and disloyalty on the part of Hon Akinajo which led to eventual sacking of the lawmaker as the chairman, house committee on public works and transport during its Tuesday’s plenary and was immediately replaced by Hon Kehinde Taofeek Olatunde popularly called deacon, representing Akinyele Constituency II.
Meanwhile, principal officers of the house have distanced themselves from the Speaker’s decision of sacking Hon Olagoke Olamide Akinajo as the chairman, house committee on public works by describing the decision as a unilateral one adding that the Speaker did not discuss anything of sort with them prior to the plenary.
However, another source in the Oyo state house of assembly who also spoke with sunrisebulletin.com on condition of anonymity stressed that even though the Speaker’s decision was described by some lawmakers as unilateral, the Speaker has the power to take such decisions at his discretion if and when he deems necessary.
