Oyo State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Abiodun has said that the state government’s revocation of the lands acquired by former Governor of the state,Abiola Ajimobi was not on a vendetta mission but on public interest.
Abiodun, while featuring on Political Circuit that was anchored by the ace broadcasters: Isaac Brown, Ademola Babalola and Dare Adekambi of Fresh FM, Ibadan on Saturday, 7th March, 2020. Abiodun said that the revocation of lands acquired by Ajimobi was not born out of curiosity and eagerness to revenge his alleged atrocities, highhandedness and wickedness committed while in office but an attempt that is premised on public interest.
Abiodun said that the issue of the acquired lands was already in court, adding that having revoked the acquired lands, the former Governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi has immediately sued the state government on a litigation to refrain from the alleged lands which he claimed does not belong to state.
Abiodun reiterated that he and state government could not preempt the outcome of the judgement, adding that with submission of their defence in court, the lands would be eventually claimed for public use.
He reiterated that the members of public and the main opposition All Proggressives Congress (APC) should cast their minds from insinuations that the state government was curious and eager to ridicule and witchunt the former governor on the alleged lands.
On assurance of the dividends of democracy, Abiodun said Seyi Makinde led government was doing everything possible to ensure that the good people of Oyo State have access to lands for building of homes and residences.
He said the government was also in place to work in line with the fulfilment of 50 percent lands’ litigations promised to settled out of court which he affirmed had been yielding fruitful results.
On the recent attack that took away the life of his driver, Abiodun said he was shocked and devastated that his driver whom could be described a confidant and adviser could be killed mercilessly in a gruesome attack, adding that he was the main target, stressing that God has ordained him with numbers of years to spend on earth and if some agents of darkness are becoming sleepless on how to get rid of him prematurely,he said they should go ahead.
Abiodun said Makinde was committed to welfare and well beings of the people of Oyo State, adding that the only area where any member of the cabinet could see the governor’s red eyes is to do any grievous thing against the people of the state.
He said the state government was on a mission to make life comfortable for all the people of the state, adding that the issue of Certificate of Occupancy(C of O) that concerns his ministry would be easily available when anyone makes an attempt to get it.
In his furtherance, Abiodun said that the one designed by the last government was nothing to right home about, adding that the best and affordable one would be designed in the next few months.
