Pastor Adeboye Urges Nigerians to Take Precautionary Measures Against Fire Outbreaks

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has sounded a note of warning to Nigerians, urging them to take precautionary measures against fire outbreaks across the country. Speaking during the church’s February thanksgiving service at the Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye emphasized the need for vigilance and prayer in the face of potential disasters, including storms and floods.

Adeboye’s warning comes on the heels of a prophecy he shared at the beginning of the year, calling on Nigerians to pray against fire outbreaks, storms, and floods. With the recent surge in fire incidents across the world, Pastor Adeboye reiterated the importance of being prayerful and taking necessary precautions to prevent such disasters.

The cleric specifically advised farmers preparing their land for cultivation to avoid bush burning, stressing that carelessness could lead to devastating consequences. “Don’t joke with any form of naked fire around you,” he warned. “And farmers, please don’t burn bushes while preparing your farms. Don’t say I didn’t tell you.”

In his sermon titled “The Covenant-Keeping God,” Pastor Adeboye reminded the congregation that obedience to God’s covenant ensures His faithfulness and blessings. He cited biblical examples of individuals who experienced divine favor through obedience, including the late founder of RCCG, who was called by God to start a church that would spread across the world.

Adeboye dismissed notions that the church’s growth was solely due to his academic achievements, attributing it instead to God’s covenant-keeping nature. “There are many RCCG parishes in countries I’ve never visited, including places where church buildings are not allowed,” he said. “That is not about me; it’s the result of God’s covenant.”

He urged the congregation to value their relationship with God and remain steadfast in keeping His covenant, assuring them that God remains faithful to those who do. “If you keep God’s covenant, He will make you His peculiar treasure,” Pastor Adeboye concluded.

As Nigerians navigate the challenges of the new year, Pastor Adeboye’s warning serves as a timely reminder of the importance of prayer, vigilance, and obedience to God’s covenant. By taking precautionary measures against fire outbreaks and other potential disasters, Nigerians can ensure a safer and more prosperous future.
