As a gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State for 2027, I firmly believe that entrepreneurship is the key to unlocking individual and collective potential. The significance of empowerment cannot be overstated, as it ignites the flame of innovation and progress. When individuals are empowered with the skills and knowledge to take control of their lives, they become unstoppable forces for change.

Entrepreneurship has the unique ability to drive economic growth, create jobs, foster innovation, and uplift communities. In today’s world, filled with constant uncertainty, entrepreneurs thrive on chaos, turning challenges into opportunities and obstacles into stepping stones. As the world continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, the demand for entrepreneurship skills will only continue to grow, making it an essential skillset for anyone looking to make a meaningful impact.

Empowerment is a crucial aspect of entrepreneurship, as it enables individuals to take control of their lives and make informed decisions. There are several types of empowerment, including:

Nigeria, in particular, needs to support entrepreneurship spirits, as it is one of the most effective ways to address the country’s unemployment challenges. With a burgeoning population and a limited number of government and private sector jobs, entrepreneurship is the way forward. By mobilizing enough support for entrepreneurship, we can create a thriving ecosystem of businesses that cater to the diverse needs of our population, stimulating economic growth, reducing poverty, and improving living standards.

Recently, I attended an entrepreneurship program organized by the Women Wing of Aseyori Support Group (ASG) of Ward 9, Egbeda Local Government. The program’s enthusiasm and dedication to empowering women and youth were impressive. I shared my thoughts on the importance of entrepreneurship and empowerment, highlighting the need for political power and will to expand such initiatives.

As part of my vision for Oyo State, I am committed to ensuring that our people are empowered to reach their full potential. The AKK House Initiative, which will be commissioned soon, is a testament to this commitment. This initiative aims to provide a platform for entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers to connect, collaborate, and access resources, enabling them to turn their ideas into reality.

I am willing to engage with everyone during my time in Nigeria, working with individuals and groups who share my vision for a better future. With collective action and a commitment to empowering our people, I am confident that we can achieve greatness for everyone in Oyo State. As I reflect on my experience with the Aseyori Support Group, I am reminded that a lot can be achieved with sincerity of purpose and genuine empowerment.

Oyo State needs the right hands on its affairs, and I am more motivated than ever to ensure that our people reach their full potential. By empowering entrepreneurs, innovators, and change-makers, we can unlock the potential of Oyo State and create a brighter future for all.
