The Muslim community in Oyo State and Nigeria at large is mourning the loss of a revered Islamic scholar and leader, His Eminence Fadilat Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello Oniwasi Agbaye, Sultonu li Wahizeen of Yorubaland. Sheikh Bello passed away after a lifetime of dedicated service to Islam, his community, and humanity.
The news of his passing was received with sadness and regret by the Office of the First Fakhar Soliheen of Oyo State, Dr. Al-Imam, A Sheikh, Taofeeq Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK). In a condolence message, Dr. Kareem expressed his deepest sympathies to the family of the late Sheikh, the Grand Chief Imam of Oyo State, esteemed scholars, and all believers in Oyo State and Nigeria.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello Oniwasi Agbaye,” Dr. Kareem said. “His passing leaves a void in our community, but his legacy of service, compassion, and wisdom will continue to inspire us.”
Sheikh Bello was a highly respected figure in the Muslim community, known for his tireless efforts to promote Islamic values, education, and community development. His contributions to the growth and development of Islam in Oyo State and Nigeria are immeasurable.
As the Muslim community mourns the loss of this great leader, they also celebrate his remarkable life and legacy. The Office of the First Fakhar Soliheen of Oyo State prayed for Almighty Allah to bless the deceased with His mercy and raise him with Prophet Muhammad and his purified progeny.
“We ask Almighty Allah to grant him Aljanat Firdaus, and to give his family, friends, and followers the patience and solace to bear this great loss,” Dr. Kareem said.
The Muslim community in Oyo State and Nigeria will continue to remember Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello Oniwasi Agbaye as a shining example of dedication, compassion, and service to humanity. May his soul rest in peace.
