It’s the outcome of consistent, honest, and reliable actions, built and purified over time by perseverance and diligence.

Individuals who choose integrity over expediency face an uphill battle, often suffering from neglect, undervaluation, or even ostracism. Their unfaltering obligation to honesty is frequently met with skepticism, and their values are constantly challenged. Corruption is a cancer that eats away the very essence of why we have societies in the first instance. It leaves destruction and despair in its wake, affecting all levels of society, from the poorest citizen to the highest echelons of power. The effects are particularly debilitating, preventing the realization of our full potential and capacity to do well.
However, I firmly believe that corruption can be eradicated, and trust can be built. As your governor, I commit to disengaging corrupt practices at all levels in Oyo State. This won’t be an easy task, but with determination, uniform action, and the willingness to confront the root causes, I am confident we can achieve a corruption-free society.
To accomplish this feat, we must strengthen our citizens, cut the red tape that hinders progress, and harness the power of technology to create a more transparent, accountable, and just society. We must celebrate individuals who embody integrity, persevering through challenging environments, and emerging as pillars of reliability”.
AKK drew inspiration from Prof. Dora Akunyili, a renowned advocate for integrity and trustworthy leadership. He highlighted her achievements as Director-General of NAFDAC, where she fought against counterfeit drugs despite facing assassination attempts and personal threats.
“Prof. Akunyili’s legacy reminds us that trustworthiness is the currency of effective leadership,” AKK said. “Those who stand for integrity will leave a lasting impact on society.”
