Ibadan, Oyo State – In a heartwarming display of generosity and community spirit, renowned philanthropist and academician, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, celebrated his birthday by distributing notebooks to students at his alma maters, Abiola Jacob Primary School Oke Foko and Urban Day Grammar School, Ibadan, on Tuesday.

The distribution ceremony, which was part of Dr. Kareem’s commitment to giving back to society, particularly to the less privileged, saw hundreds of students benefiting from the philanthropist’s kind gesture.

As the first Fakhar Soliheen in Oyo State, Dr. Kareem’s humanitarian endeavors have been a beacon of hope for vulnerable children, widows, people with disabilities, and various organizations. His dedication to education and community development has made him a respected figure in Oyo State.

Represented by his supporters, led by Alhaji Asimiyu Ademola Adeeyo, Dr. Kareem emphasized the importance of education and giving back to society. “We are here today to celebrate the birthday of our principal, a philanthropist of note, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, and to share this precious moment with you,” Alhaji Adeeyo said.

Addressing the pupils, Alhaji Adeeyo encouraged them to adopt a similar mindset of giving back to society. “Some years back, the celebrant was also in this school just like you are now. Instead of throwing a fanfare, he decided to celebrate with the pupils of his former school, and this should serve as a motivation for you.”

Dr. Kareem’s illustrious past as a student at both schools was highlighted, having served as timekeeper and health prefect at Abiola Jacob Primary School and male class captain at Urban Day Grammar School. He also led the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria as chief Imam.

The notebook distribution was attended by members of the Aseyori Support Group, including Comrade Demola Oke, Obafemi Ladipo, Mrs. Olatayo Adeyinka, and Olusegun C. A Taiwo.

In an interview with journalists, Alhaji Adeeyo expressed Dr. Kareem’s commitment to helping those in need. “Dr. Kareem believes that education is key to unlocking the potential of our youth, and he is dedicated to supporting the educational development of Oyo State students.”
