The Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Aderemi Oseni has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim faithful in his constituency and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud.
Eid-el-Maulud marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), a revered figure in Islam whose teachings continue to inspire billions of Muslims worldwide.
In a statement released on Sunday by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, in Ibadan, the lawmaker described the celebration as an important occasion for reflecting on the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He urged Muslims to use this period to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings of peace, love, and compassion and to embody these virtues in their daily lives.
According to him, “The birth of the Holy Prophet is a reminder of the values of humility, honesty, and generosity that he exemplified.”
Oseni, who represents the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo State, also emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence, especially in a diverse nation like Nigeria. He called on Nigerians, irrespective of their religious beliefs, to live in harmony and mutual respect for one another.
“As we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet, let us renew our commitment to the ideals of tolerance and unity. We must all work together to foster an environment of peace and understanding within our communities,” he stated.
Congratulating the Muslim Ummah, the lawmaker encouraged them to use the occasion to pray for the progress and stability of Nigeria. He acknowledged the challenges facing the nation and expressed confidence that, with prayers and collective effort, Nigeria can overcome its difficulties.
“Eid-el-Maulud is not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to seek divine intervention for our country. Let us remember to pray for the continued peace, prosperity, and development of Nigeria,” Oseni remarked.
The lawmaker further reiterated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the development of the federal constituency, assuring that his office would continue to prioritize projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the people in the constituency.
“My resolve to serve and bring development to our constituency remains steadfast. Together, we can achieve remarkable progress,” he added.
Oseni, an APC chieftain, lauded the security agencies for their efforts in ensuring the safety of citizens during this period and urged them to remain vigilant. He wished all Muslims a joyous Eid-el-Maulud celebration and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the Muslim Ummah and the entire nation.
“May this celebration bring us closer to Allah and grant us His grace and mercy. Eid Mubarak to all Muslims,” the lawmaker concluded.
