The World Tijaniyyah Movement, Oyo State Chapter, has thrown its weight behind the gubernatorial ambition of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Chairman and CEO of Ilaji Sports and Resorts, with a special prayer session held at the Ilaji Resort Central Mosque. Led by National Coordinator Sheikh Muhammad Yeskuru, the group expressed strong support for Sanusi’s 2027 gubernatorial bid, seeking divine guidance and success for his political aspirations.
During the visit, the group’s secretary announced the upcoming Annual Moulid Nabiyy celebration in Senegal, scheduled for September 16th, and sought Sanusi’s assistance in transporting members to the event. Sanusi pledged his support for their journey, demonstrating his commitment to the group’s activities.
The World Tijaniyyah Movement also distanced itself from a malicious publication that questioned Sanusi’s faith, emphasizing that they had no association with the false claims. They warned politicians against using their name for cheap popularity and reaffirmed their trust in Sanusi’s commitment to his faith and leadership.
The group acknowledged the significance of the Ilaji Resort Central Mosque, commissioned by the Grand Imam of Oyo State, Sheikh AbdulGaniyy Abubakry Agbotomokekere, in 2020. The mosque has become a central place of worship, attracting worshippers from far and near.
Sanusi expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the prayers and support, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective prayers in achieving success. The visit and prayers have solidified Sanusi’s position as a prominent figure in Oyo State, with widespread backing from influential religious groups as he sets his sights on the 2027 gubernatorial elections.
