Mrs. Danjuma’s baseless allegations against the Hon. Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, and Investment, as well as the Babaloja of Oyo State, Alh. Y.K. Abass is a clear testament to her desperation and attempts to cling to power.
The authentic leadership of NANTS, Oyo State Chapter, now comprises the newly elected Chairperson, Princess Aderonke Rahmat Adedoja, and her deputy, Alhaji Usman Fatai Abolanle. This new leadership has been endorsed by the association’s members, who have expressed their confidence in their ability to drive progress and prosperity.
The association’s decision to pass a vote of no confidence in Mrs. Danjuma was not taken lightly. Her actions, characterized by insincerity, partisanship, and frivolity, have caused irreparable harm to the association and its members. Her attempts to commercialize the association and exploit its members for personal gain are well-documented.
Furthermore, Mrs. Danjuma’s directive to NANTS members to work against the incumbent governor during the last election is a clear indication of her self-serving agenda. Her removal from the association leadership on May 30th, 2024, was a necessary step to protect the interests of the members and maintain the integrity of the association.
The association has warned Mrs. Danjuma to cease parading herself as Chairperson, as this constitutes impersonation, character assassination, and insubordination. Failure to comply will result in legal action.
In a separate development, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided palliatives to alleviate the economic challenges faced by traders in the state. The event, attended by officials from the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Investment, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in boosting the local economy and providing relief to those in need. The palliatives were distributed evenly among the 12 clusters of associations making up the Oyo State Market Leaders Advisory Council.
