As the city of Ibadan celebrates the coronation of its new monarch, His Imperial Majesty Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, prominent citizens and leaders have joined in felicitating the new king and the people of Ibadanland. Among them is Chief Engr Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, who has congratulated Oba Olakulehin on his historic ascension to the throne.
In a statement released to newsmen, Chief Engr Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland, felicitated with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on his historic coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland. In a heartfelt congratulatory message, Sanusi praised the new monarch’s ascension to the throne, lauding the time-honored selection process that led to his emergence.
“I rejoice with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on the occasion of his grand ascension to the ancient throne of his forefathers and his official coronation as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan land,” Jubril Sanusi said. “This milestone is a testament to our rich cultural heritage and the enduring legacy of our forebears.”
Chief Jubril Sanusi, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels & Sports Resort and ICAST, commended the elders and leaders in Ibadanland for maintaining the unique process that led to the emergence of the Olubadan. “I commend our esteemed elders and leaders in Ibadanland for their wisdom and dedication to our tradition. Their selflessness and commitment to our heritage are most appreciated.”
He also praised the Olubadan-in-Council for ensuring a peaceful transition and appointment of the new Olubadan. “I commend the Olubadan-in-Council for their leadership and wisdom in ensuring a seamless transition. Their dedication to our progress is most commendable.”
