Iseyinland Bids Farewell To A Legend: Chief Festus Olapade Adelabu Laid To Rest

The body of the late Asiwaju of Iseyinland Chief (Sir.) Festus Olapade Adelabu has been committed to Mother Earth in his Malete, Iseyin, hometown.

Prominent Nigerians from all walks of life, including the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kayode Ariwoola, former Governor of Oyo state, Sen. Rasheed Ladoja, former Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barr. Iyiola Oladokun, former House of Reps member, Hon. Shina Peller among other dignitaries gathered in Iseyin today to pay their last respects at the final funeral rites of Late Chief (Sir) Festus Olapade Adelabu, the father-in-law of Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide.

The event was also an avenue for dignitaries to celebrate a purposeful life well spent by the late philanthropist and consummate businessman who left an indelible mark on the sand of time.

The burial ceremony, which took place at St. John’s Catholic Church, Isalu, in Iseyin local government area of Oyo state, was a grand occasion that brought sons and daughters of Iseyinland together as well as family members to bond, unwind, and network while they enjoyed first-class entertainment and music from a live band.

The funeral rites were conducted with pomp and fanfare, reflecting the late Chief Adelabu’s stature and contributions to the community.

Our correspondent reports that the event was marked by a traditional display of drumming prowess of Iseyinland, Tributes, Eulogies, and Orayers, as friends, family, and well-wishers bid farewell to the departed elder statesman.

Speaking with Journalists, the daughter of the late Asiwaju of Iseyinland and wife of Hon. Olajide, Alhaja Adenike Shakirat Olajide who was visibly emotional as she bid farewell to her father and expressed gratitude to dignitaries who attended the ceremony, acknowledging their support and solidarity during the difficult time.

The occasion was a testament to the late Chief Adelabu’s legacy and impact on the community, as well as the respect and admiration he commanded from various quarters.
