In a significant development, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been elected as the new Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum. This decision was made during a meeting of the Forum on Monday in Lagos, which brought together all six Governors from the region.
Sanwo-Olu succeeds the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, who previously held the position. The meeting at the Government House in Lagos was attended by Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Ademola Adeleke (Osun State), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun State), and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti State).
As the new Chairman, Sanwo-Olu is poised to play a key role in shaping the region’s development and addressing pressing issues affecting the South-West states. His leadership is expected to foster greater collaboration and cooperation among the member states, driving progress and prosperity in the region.
