The new Chairman, of the Association of Nigeria Broadcasters (ANBROAD) in Oyo state, Ambassador Opeyemi Ayanrinde, and members of his executive council have been charged to be committed to the development of the association and well-being of members to advance the course of the association.
The charge was given by a veteran broadcaster and Board of Trustee (BoT) member of ANBROAD in the state, Bashorun Adegboyega Lawal at the election of the association which was held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Information, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The new executive members are Ambassador Opeyemi Ayanrinde “Mc Swagger’, Chairman, Comrade. Olabisi Kofoworola Adenuga (Vice-chairman), Comrade Okediji Okunlola (General Secretary), Comrade Oyedepo Ayodele Mc Jasper (Treasurer)
Others are Comrade Olalekan Olaniyi (Asst. General Secretary), Adewale Akinyoade Agbaletu (Organizing Secretary), Com. Kolawole Dele OgaKola (Communication Secretary 1), Comrade Salaudeen Ahmed (Auditor), Com. Dorcas Olufunmilayo Oladepo (Welfare Officer), Comrade Adekola Ismael (Financial Secretary), Comrade Adeogun Segun (Chief Whip 1), Comrade Musa Dalia (Communication Secretary 2) and Comrade Idowu Kazeem (Chief Whip 2)
Bashorun Lawal who admonished them not to betray the trust bestowed on them by members encouraged the chairman and the Exco to operate an open door policy that will further strengthen the association.
“Your victory is an act of God and the wish of the members of the association. Therefore, I want to encourage the chairman to lead by example and carry others along in his plans and decisions to promote unity and love among members.
“Further more, your activities and quality leadership at this point will determine how viable the association will be under your watch, and as a leader, you must operate an open door policy to earn the trust of your executives and members generally.
Again, I like to encourage you as the new chairman of ANBROAD to lead the association with patience, humility, wisdom, and uncanny ability to improve the standard of the association.
Addressing the members, the chairman steering committee of the election, Dr Bade Ojuade said the election became necessary to usher in new leadership for ANBROAD, describing the exercise as credible and historic.
Dr. Ojuade said the new chairman and his Exco members will be officially inaugurated in the first week of June after the election of the national body in Ibadan.
He therefore urged the Chairman, Ambassador Ayanrinde to exhibit quality leadership traits that will take the association to enviable heights.
Former chairman of the association, Mogaji Kola Akintayo popularly known as Ode Ilu’badan commended the electioneering process which produced a new chairman and his executive, adding that there was already a landmark sign that they will make the association proud.
He also thanked the steering committee chairman, Dr Bade Ojuade, for his sense of organization which paved way for the success of the election.
In his speech, the Chairman, Ambassador Ayanrinde expressed gratitude to the leaders and elders of the association for their support and unwavering commitment to achieving success at the poll.
He then assured them and members of the association of a transparent, quality leadership and open door policy in his tenure.
“I thank you for the opportunity you have given me to serve, I will work hard and do everything possible not to disappoint you, but to make you proud.”
