Former Deputy Governor and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, His Excellency, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi has stated that the 52 age limit prediction on a successor of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde in the year 2027 is a self-opinion of the governor but not the dictate of the party.
Hazeem Gbolarumi said this while speaking with Naijatodaynews.com at his Ibadan Residence.
The PDP chieftain said the statement made by Gov Seyi Makinde has nothing to do with the party’s decision in terms of choosing its candidate.
Former deputy governor Gbolarumi, while applauding the successes recorded so far by Gov Seyi Makinde since five years ago in the state, which has greatly overwhelmed the eight-year rule of former governor of the state, Late Abiola Ajimobi maintained that the citizens cannot make another mistake by restoring the All Progressives Congress to power in the state.
Gbolarumi said he has since before the 2023 General Election Campaign re-aligned with Makinde, being the most brilliant candidate in Oyo State, and equally that his leadership style in the party has consistently positioned the party above its oppositions.
“Gov Seyi Makinde is a true leader. We do things together. The 2023 Nation’s Cup semi-final and final were watched together with the governor. This tells you that Makinde is ever approachable. There are plenty of successes of this party through Makinde.”, he said.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Gbolarumi called every citizen to massively vote for PDP grassroots candidates for more development across the thirty-three (33) areas of the state today 27th April 2024, while he called the Tinubu-led administration to mechanize ease for the citizens through socio-economic friendly policies against inflation, scarcity of fuel, insecurity, banditry, among others.
