In a solemn ceremony held in Ibadan on Friday, the final rites for the late Alhaji Abdullateef Akin-Tokunbo Olajide, father of Honourable Dhikirulahi Adedeji Stanley Olajide, were observed with deep reverence and respect. Alhaji Olajide, aged 87, peacefully passed away in the early hours of Friday, leaving behind a legacy of love and care that touched the lives of many.
Honourable Dhikirulahi Adedeji Stanley Olajide, accompanied by his wife Alhaji Adenike Shakirat Olajide, expressed profound sorrow at the loss of his father, describing him as a true father whose life exemplified compassion and responsibility. “My Dad ensured we received the best care and attention, even as adults,” he said, adding a prayer for Almighty Allah to grant his father Aljannah firdaus.
The burial prayer, led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik AbdulGaniy Agbotomokekere, preceded the interment at a mausoleum erected in the family’s house at Asabari area, Anfani Ibadan. Islamic clerics, including Alfa Lamunigun, joined in offering prayers for the departed soul, underscoring the community’s deep respect for Alhaji Olajide.
The ceremony was attended by notable party stalwarts, including Alhaja Bose Adedibu, Senator Kamorudeen Adedibu, Iba Oluyole Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, and many others, who came to pay their respects and honor the life of Alhaji Olajide. Neighbors and well-wishers also gathered, fondly remembering Baba as a caring and loving father who dedicated his life to God and service to humanity.
As the community mourns the loss of Alhaji Abdullateef Akin-Tokunbo Olajide, his legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him.
