Former Speaker of the 8th National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara (CFR), laid his mother, Late Mama Saratu Yakubu Tukur, to rest on Saturday, 24th February 2024. The emotional ceremony took place in Gwarangah Village, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where the late matriarch peacefully passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the remarkable age of 103.
The burial, held at the COCIN Centre in Gwarangah, drew an illustrious crowd, featuring ex-President Buhari, represented by former SGF Boss Mustapha, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, National Assembly Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and other prominent figures. The event brought together lawmakers, captains of industries, gospel music celebrities, traditional leaders, and a diverse assembly of Nigerians.
Dignitaries present included Governor of Niger State Mohammad Umar Baggo, representatives of governors from Kaduna and Plateau, former Governor of Bauchi State Isa Yuguda, ex-deputies from Kogi, Gombe, and Nasarawa, former SGF Babachir Lawal, former speakers Dimeji Bankole and Aminu Tambuwal, ex-Minister of Women Affairs Paulen Tallen, second republic minister Bello Kirfi, former Member of the 8th National Assembly Rt.
