Rep’s Member, Oseni Appeals Tinubu To Help Victims Of Maya Market Fire Outbreak In Ibarapa East LG

A federal lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Remi Oseni has called on the Tinubu-led administration to extend its relieving hand to the victims of the Maya Fire Disaster at the Ibarapa East Federal Constituency.

presented on Wednesday stated that the Maya Market that gutted fire has left hundreds of its traders, and house owners around hopeless.

“I rise on this day to address a matter of urgent importance – the devastating fire outbreak that swept through Maya Market in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State. “

“This situation calls for an immediate plea for federal government intervention to alleviate the severe impact on the affected community.”

Hon. Remi Oseni noted that plenty of goods, products and properties were razed in the fire, in the year 2023 while residents of Ibarapa added that plenty of property and East Localf Government found themselves in confusion and agony on the 20th of December 2023 when a raging fire outbreak destroyed Maya Market.

“This unfortunate incident led to the destruction of goods worth hundreds of millions in naira, reducing the entire structure, goods, and facilities to ashes.

The unprecedented nature of this incident resulted in a significant loss of goods, shops, and properties, with some individuals sustaining injuries. Despite the community’s efforts, containment proved abortive.”

Speaking to newsmen, the APC federal lawmaker maintained that he made the motion as a due support with the victims who lost their properties, while others sustained varying injuries., and microphone their plights to president of the nation ,Bola Ahmed Tinubu for urgent attention in terms of quick funding intervention

“This motion of urgent importance is raised to underscore the critical need for federal government assistance in alleviating the distress faced by the affected residents and facilitating the reconstruction of the shattered market, among others.”, Oseni said.
