Oyo State House of Assembly has called on the executive to formalize building of speed breaker at flashpoints at Oyo-Iseyin, Oroki Road and Ogbomosho Road against usual reckless driving.
The call came on Tuesday in its sitting presided by its speaker, Rt.Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin in a motion sponsored by a lawmaker representing Oyo East/West State Constituency, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas.
The mover of the motion as seconded by a lawmaker representing Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, commended the state governor, Seyi Makinde for constructing a 34.8kilometre Oyo-Iseyin/Oroki Road, hinted that recklessness of the motorcyclists and other commercial and private drivers on the roads, which span across Irepo,Ojongbodu, Sonku,Fasola,Awumoro, Oroki, Ogbomosho Road, can be reduced through the building of zebra crossings and other speed breaking mechanisms against further reckelessness and accidents on the roads.
Meanwhile, the House has scaled Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, which is believed to work in relation with environmental existing laws, to second reading to enhance traffic, environmental standards, while, equally committed to the joint committee on Judiciary and Special Duties for further consideration.
